Pekka Kähkipuro is currently the Chief Information Officer at Fimlab Laboratories in Finland. Prior to this, he was CIO at Tampere University (2021–2024), Brunel University London (2016–2021), and Director of IT at Aalto University (Finland) (2010–2015). He also held various senior positions in the private sector, including at Nokia and Nokia Siemens Networks from 2005 to 2010. He received his PhD in Computer Science from the University of Helsinki in 2000. He has twice served on the board of the European University Information Systems organisation (EUNIS). He has also been a board member and chairman of several private sector companies.
