Activites supported by the Vietsch Foundation

The Vietsch Foundation provides a light-weight mechanism to fund or co-fund with other organisations small pieces of work that would be benificial for the research and education community and its users.


Searsia is an open source engine and a protocol, created by academic researchers. Searsia provides the means to create a personal, private, and configurable search engine, that combines search results freely from a very large number of sources. Searsia enables existing sources to cooperate such that they together provide a search service that resembles today’s large search engines.

FedLab Federation Test Harness

Bringing a comprehensive federation test-harness into production at Federation Labs.

The system is intended to make federation integration quicker and cheaper. It is open source with an architecture that enables ease of use and flexibility in specifying test configurations. It is expected that the test suite will bring about improvement in the conformance of federation products.

MoU with NLnet to cooperate on Internet R&D

Vietsch Foundation makes the first donation to the "Research and Higher Education Technology Fund".
